Kentucky Dachshund Rescue: Racing to the Rescue

The Sod Pod
FOR ALL THOSE
COLD AND RAINY DAYS

Picture

The SOD POD is for all those little doggies that really don't like the cold , rainy or snowy weather ...but need a place to potty..

Here is how to construct your own sod pod for your little ones...and save your carpet.

a. Place a sheet of sturdy plastic (greenhouse cover) on a concrete floor (8x10)

b. Lay 2x4 x8 studs and nail them to form a square (center part)

c. Pour cedar chips on top of the plastic to cover a thickness of about 2 "

d. Roll out the sod rolls to cover the cedar. You can get these from a sod farm.

e. Place a single pole (any will do) we have use a wood base (12" square) FOR MALES

f. Water with a sprinkling can two times weekly to moisten

g. Sprinkle pelleted lime to freshen grass....

h. We also have a couple of fluorescent lights over the workbench in our garage that provides light on dark days

i. Rake weekly to remove droppings...

This one bed provides a comfort for 8 little doxies at our home...
