Weiner Dog Racing is a popular informal sporting event. Typical races are 25 to 50 yards in length and are run on various surfaces. Many race tracks across America host Wiener Dog Races as fundraising or publicity events as many times they draw the largest attendance numbers of the year.

Weiner Dog Racing is strictly a informal event as none of the entrants are bred for racing. One Doxie owner holds their runner at one end of the track while the other coaxes them to the finish line with either treats or toys. Many times, Doxies will run swiftly to their owner at the finish line. Often, however, some Doxies will choose not to run the length of the course and instead visit with other dogs, the owner that released them, run in circles or off the field, creating hilarious scenarios, some of which are captured in the videos below.
